Key elements of the hydraulic system of lifts and loaders

hydraulic system elements

Lifts and loaders are widely used in many industries. They most often appear in agriculture, as well as when preparing land for investment or constructing new buildings. What parts are included in most lifts and loaders?

Hydraulic system in loaders and lifts

The hydraulic system used in loaders and lifts is one of the most important elements of the entire machine. It is responsible for the ability to lift heavy loads. It is quite a complicated system, consisting of many small parts. Hydraulic systems in most agricultural or construction machines look quite similar. However, you must remember that slightly different elements fit each device model.

Elements of the hydraulic system in lifts and loaders

Composed of hydraulic system many parts go into it. Some of them are larger than others, but they all perform an equally important function. The basic elements of the entire hydraulic system include:

  • cover,
  • lift housing,
  • adjustment lever,
  • switches,
  • hydraulic connector.

In addition to the above-mentioned parts, there are also additional elements corresponding to, among others: for the tightness of the entire system. These include caps, washers, pins, rings, spring adjustments, rings, sealing rings, sleeves and numerous seals.

Please remember that all elements must be compatible with each other. It's mainly about their size. This is why, if one of the parts in a lift or loader breaks down, you should familiarize yourself with the specification of the given machine before purchasing the missing element.

Hydraulic lines in lifts and loaders

However, in order for the entire hydraulic system to function properly, it is necessary to use appropriate cables. They connect all system elements together. They ensure adequate liquid flow. In the case of hydraulic systems, these are usually special oils or water.

There are at least several types of cables available on the market. Among them, the following models are the most popular:

  • thermoplastic,
  • high pressure,
  • hydraulic hoses,
  • high temperature,
  • low pressure.

Individual types of hydraulic hoses differ primarily in the material from which they are made. This affects their durability and resistance to specific factors, such as extreme temperatures and pressure. The type of cuffs used is also important. When choosing these elements, it is worth focusing on ensuring that they match your lift or loader and are of sufficiently high quality.

Filters for hydraulic systems

Most hydraulic systems also use special filters. These include, among others: models designed with oil in mind. They are located in the hydraulic fluid tank. They prevent contaminants from entering the entire system. One loader or lift may contain even several filters, depending on the exact design of the machine. Some of them keep liquids clean, while others remove both solid particles and moisture.

Filters in the hydraulic system are the elements that wear out over time. When they stop working properly, the machine is at risk of rapid damage. This is why it is so important to replace these parts. This should be done regularly, during periodic service work. Both loaders and lifts are expensive devices, so it is better to prevent their damage.

Repair kits for the hydraulic system

You can also find hydraulic system components on the market that allow you to quickly eliminate the simplest faults. We are talking about special repair kits that should be included in the equipment of every company that has loaders and lifts. These most often include basic seals and rings. Thanks to them, you can quickly get rid of a fault that causes the entire system to leak.

Application of hydraulic systems

Hydraulic systems work perfectly in the construction of many machines. Loaders and lifts are just an example. Systems of this type are also included in devices responsible for crushing or cutting objects. They generate high pressure, which allows for high forces. Importantly, the hydraulic system itself does not require access to electricity. This allows it to be used also in hard-to-reach places, in industries such as construction, metallurgy, automotive, agriculture, mining and forestry.
